Who We Are
We are Vampire.Energy, pioneers in rethinking EV charging IT & cloud infrastructure. Our team blends domain-knowledge and expertise, RabbitMQ broker HA cluster deployments, DevOps, cloud scalability, and embedded security, delivering an open, modular, and future-proof charging ecosystem.
Our Vision: To power a future where every community, vehicle and building is part of a self-balancing, renewable energy network — and accessing that energy is as simple as plugging in. The transition to electric mobility and distributed renewable energy is not only about installing hardware. It is about building the digital infrastructure that allows energy to flow intelligently between vehicles, buildings, PV assets, and the wider grid.
Our Mission: We build the operating system for electric energy communities — the digital and financial layer that unifies EV charging, payments and local solar generation into one interoperable ecosystem. By connecting chargers, prosumers and markets through open standards and secure technology, we turn charging infrastructures into smart energy networks that balance the grid and create new local economies around clean power.
What We Do
Instead of building and maintaining a complex core gateway internally, customers use Vampire.Energy as the infrastructure layer that handles protocol communication, scaling, and operational stability. Instead of closed, rigid systems, and vendor lock-in, we deliver modular solutions that grow with your business.
This includes OCPP protocol support, secure WebSocket connectivity and authentication, fault-tolerant message handling, and full monitoring through observability tooling. Connect to Hubject roaming network using our built-in integration and be ready for Plug & Charge* in 2027.
Modular OCPP Gateway
Open-source RabbitMQ gateway with embedded DevOps and cloud security for resilience and scalability. No middleware hacks, just native OCPP messaging. Integrate any existing business logic code seamlessly as AMQP queue workers. Any programming language, blue-green deployments without downtime.
Grid Native API
Dynamic load management (DLM). Seamless integration with local and national grids, enabling demand response over OpenADR protocol, a critical, open-standard communication protocol enabling DSOs and TSOs to manage grid stability by interacting with EV chargers as DERs for demand-side flexibility.
Custom Integrations *
Tailored deployments with modular add-ons: fleet & depot tools, roaming, AI troubleshooting. Flexible APIs and white-label solutions. ISO 15118-20 consulting and PLC GreenPHY hardware integration for Plug & Charge readiness. Eichrect certification and compliance support.
Frequently Asked Questions
Ready to rethink EV charging? Find answers to common questions about our OCPP as a Service approach, open-source solutions, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
Is it really open-source?
Yes! Our RabbitMQ OCPP gateway is open, auditable, and customizable. You can inspect, test locally, modify, and extend the code to meet your specific needs. We would love to receive your feedback, blog posts about it and your pull requests with bug fixes!
How much does it cost?
Our pricing model is simple & transparent and depends on your specific number of charge points: 4 EUR / month + VAT, with no installation fees or hidden costs. Our platform is designed to be self-service, so your OCPP endpoint will be ready to use in seconds.
What about scalability?
Built on RabbitMQ, it's designed for enterprise-level throughput — from small deployments to national networks. Scale from 20 chargers to 20,000+ seamlessly. Don't take our word for it, read their blog post about it: 1 million MQTT connections.
How secure is the gateway?
Banking-grade security is standard in RabbitMQ and it is provided at two levels: the transport level and the protocol level. The transport level security involves the use of SSL/TLS 1.3 to encrypt the data in transit between the RabbitMQ server and the charging stations. The protocol level security involves the use of authentication and authorization mechanisms to control who can access the RabbitMQ server and what they can do, using WSS, basic auth or client certificates.
What about my existing platform?
You don't have to replace your existing systems. Our OCPP gateway integrates with any infrastructure, based on asynchronous queue workers (AMQP). Start with what you need and add features as you grow — no vendor lock-in, programming language agnostic, no system replacement required.
When will it be available?
We're launching Q2 2026. Early access partnerships and pilot programs are available now. Contact us to join the beta program, we'd love to hear your feedback!
